A recent update to my previous post regarding Richard Amsel's panel on the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
In honor of this year's WORLD AIDS DAY, quilt block 5992, which includes Amsel's panel, will be displayed to the public from December 1st - 16th at the Compass Community Center, 201 North Dixie Highway, Lake Worth Beach, Florida 33460.
I've requested to have this panel included in future displays within Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia, as all those cities figured prominently in Richard Amsel's life.
I'll post more information as soon as it becomes available.

In 2018, I had a panel made in Richard Amsel’s honor for inclusion in the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The panel was first unveiled in Los Angeles on World AIDS Day, in December 2018, but it was not until the fall of 2019 that I handed it over to the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, for eventual inclusion into the quilt in Washington DC.
Amsel's panel is currently viewable on the interactive AIDS quilt’s website, on block 5992.
While we can offer photos of the panel to you as part of our thank you gifts for your donations to the documentary, I wanted to share that you can also obtain an image of the panel through the Memorial Quilt's website:
As part of the Quilt family, we offer beautifully framed and printed images of your panel and block. You can also request your panel to be shown at a specific display in the future, or if you might be visiting the San Francisco Bay Area and you would like to see your panel, our warehouse is always open to you. You can also add or include any stories, photos or any other information about your panel into the letter file that accompanies your panel which can be part of the permanent archives retained at the Library of Congress.
I've already submitted a request to have the panel displayed in the Los Angeles area, as well as New York City and Philadelphia, as all locations figured prominently in Amsel's life. I'll keep you posted on any updates.
