This one almost passed me by: Amsel's cartoonish illustration of the beloved onscreen singing/dancing duo of Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler, who starred in such films as DAMES, FLIRTATION WALK, and FOOTLIGHT PARADE. While Amsel's signature isn't visible, Brad Benedict's book FAME 2: Portraits and Pop Culture confirmed it as being an Amsel work.
While I don't have the date for this piece, I suspect it was done in the early 1980's. I'm not sure if it was published somewhere, or who commissioned it.
