J.C. Leyendecker revisited.

Heads up on this fascinating article about J.C. Leyendecker, who is not only one of the giants of illustration, but whose work helped define 20th century advertizing art, even before Norman Rockwell.

ILLUSTRATION MAGAZINE has a new issue out now on Leyendecker's life and career (as well as his brother, F.X., a talented illustrator in his own right). Both the magazine and the article are must-reads.

Leyendecker's influence on Amsel was very apparent in the poster for THE STING, which Amsel paid homage to the legendary illustrator's style.
